A star for the top of the tree, with strands of small LEDs cascading down from it to the lowest branches. They change colour — red, green, blue, amber, purple and the colours between — and you switch colours and effects from the remote that comes with the set, or from your phone.
Because the strands hang from the star, the light spreads evenly over the whole tree instead of bunching where a single string happened to be wound.
Choosing a length
- 1.8m suits trees up to roughly 6ft.
- 2.1m suits trees up to roughly 7ft.
Both sets carry 400 LEDs. Pick the length closest to your tree's height, since the strands run from the star down to the base.

Good to know
Before you buy
It runs from USB-C and no wall adapter is included. It needs a standard 5V USB plug — the kind that came with your phone. Most people have a spare, but it is worth checking before it arrives.
These are an indoor light. The strands are not sealed for weather, so keep them out of rain and snow.

How do I power it?
It runs from any USB port: a USB wall adapter, a laptop or a power bank. There is no built-in battery, so it stays plugged in while it runs.
How big is the projection?
It depends on the distance. Pointed at a normal bedroom ceiling, the stars spread across most of it. The further away the surface, the bigger and softer the sky.
What are star chips?
Small discs that slot into the projector. Each one is a different scene, so more chips means more skies to switch between.
Does it work with the lights on?
It is a small projector, so the stars are faint in daylight. It looks its best in a dark room.
